Write From Dictation

Catch every word, then spend your time on spelling and word endings.

The rule

  1. 1Write short forms of every word as you listen — first letters are enough to rebuild the sentence.
  2. 2Rebuild the full sentence immediately, before the sound fades.
  3. 3Check the small words: a, the, of, in, and. Missing them costs marks.
  4. 4Check endings and spelling. This task feeds both your listening and writing scores, so it is the highest value item in the test.
